 1. A set period of the day to unwind. Can be done at home or during the school week. This is a way to take their mind off of the other academics of school and even stressors on the weekend (social, etc). 

Mondays: Stretching

Tuesday: Writing anxious ideas/ stressors out on the board, practicing gratitude

Wednesday: Painting/ Gardening/ Reading Day

Thursday: Volunteering a pet shelter (rescue dogs) 

Friday: Review of the week 

Takeaways: The importance of training the mind and how it relates to western schools. There are options available to use mindfulness in the classroom (program, a time of day, a topic, etc).
