Classroom Rules and Redirecting Behaviors
5 Main Rules
- Use proper stretching techniques.
- Have a Positive attitude.
- Don't speak when the instructor is talking.
- Respect the equipment and other students in the studio/
- Don't be afraid to ask questions and speak up if you need help.
Expectations
- Prepare the lesson (what the teacher needs to do before the class)
- Implement clear and positive communication
- Be kind and respect boundaries
Behavior
- Verbal; Use activities to silence the class (clap if you hear me once, quiet coyote)
- Physical; Simon Says to grab attention of class
- Cue; Complimenting good behavior and proper techniques
- Redirecting; Using objects (such as colored mats or colored tape) to redirect the students to assigned spots in the studio
Lesson Plan
- Age Group: 6-8 (girls and boys)
- Objective: to educate children in a fun and involving way that includes movement as well as verbal cues. This will aid their learning process to retain the necessary information.
- Come prepared (with lesson plan)
- Be proficient with timing.
- Start the class with a fun warmup and review objectives/lesson plan.
- Execute activity.
- Have each kid speak about what they learned and what they enjoyed for the lesson.
- Cool down
